The Halo wireless Door Contact has a multitude of uses within the connected home. Multiple Door Contacts can be added to your system to enhance your home security or to monitor any doorway, cupboard or medicine cabinet which may require additional care. This in turns enables you to benefit from the following connected home advantages:

 

Home security

The Door Contact lets you know when a door or window is opened or closed. Added to your Halo home security system you can use the Door Contact to trigger an intruder alarm whenever the contact recognises that the door or window is open.

 

Caring for loved ones such as the elderly and children

In addition to triggering alarms for intruder events the Door Contact can, similarly to the Movement Detector, be used in conjunction with the Care service which means that all activity can be monitored, even when the alarm is not set. You may wish to, for example, be notified if the front door has been left open whilst the kids or an elderly relative are at the property, or perhaps if the medicine cabinet has been opened. You can even set up alerts so that you are notified of just such an event.
